During the summit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Prime Minister of India will witness the signing ceremony of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries, which will take place in New Delhi, which inaugurates a new era of economic cooperation based on mutual interests and enhances historical relations and mutual access to markets and economic and investment opportunities. I welcome the strategic cooperation between the two countries, in addition to signing a number of strategic agreements and memoranda of understanding in many vital fields.
It is noteworthy that the UAE is India’s third largest trading partner, and accounts for 40 percent of its trade with Arab countries, while the economic partnership agreement is expected to increase bilateral non-oil trade to $100 billion annually within the next five years.
Relations between the UAE and India are witnessing rapid developments in light of the common concern to achieve mutual interests, especially with the exchange of official visits by the two sides at various levels, as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited India in 2016 and 2017, while the Prime Minister of India visited the UAE in the years 2015, 2018, and 2019.
Several months ago, the two countries announced the launch of talks aimed at reaching a comprehensive economic partnership agreement, which were successfully completed through the agreement.
