Ms. Scherer, Mr. Schaus, what is luxury for you?
SCHERER: Luxury, that’s the beautiful things in life, that special something that we treat ourselves to. And of course that goes beyond the purely material. Take a look at our portfolio, for example, high-quality champagnes, wines and spirits: Luxury is not just the product itself, but also the way we consume it, the joy it gives us and the attitude to life it is for stands.
SCHAUS: For me, luxury is the ideal balance between tradition and modernity. A unique creation that is created with a traditional craftsmanship in a modern production. A successful luxury brand must always try to keep this balance: If it becomes too modern and innovative at some point, it becomes short-lived. If, on the other hand, it remains too traditional, too artisanal, then it will gather dust.
