And the newspaper “The Athletic” confirmed that Manchester United had agreed with coach Ralf Rangnick on a 6-month contract, in addition to an additional two years in which he works as an advisor to the club.
Rangnick is currently the sporting director of the Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow, and has a long history in the world of coaching and managing European clubs.
Rangnick previously trained Hoffenheim, Schalke, Stuttgart and Red Bull Leipzig in the German League, and achieved good results with them, as well as modern football.
According to German sources, Rangnick is considered the “father” of influence on top German coaches today, such as Jurgen Klopp, coach of Liverpool, Thomas Tuchel, who leads Chelsea, and Julian Nagelsmann, coach of Bayern Munich, all of whom follow the offensive football approach and high pressure that Rangnick pursued.
But Rangnick’s main specialty is club management, as he worked as director of football in Leipzig for years, and the team under his management managed to reach from the lower levels to the competition for the Bundesliga.
And last summer, he signed a contract with Lokomotiv Moscow, to work as a sports director and director of development for the Russian club.
Manchester United are seeking to work with Rangnick until the end of the current season, before signing another coach with a long contract next summer.
