Officially, the preseason games of the Grapefruit Garters and Cactusdue to the failures of attempts to reach a new collective bargaining agreement between MLB and the MLBPA.
A spokesman of the MBL reported that the matches previously that the matches until March 4 had been suspended, but now they have added that those from March 5 to 7 will not be played either.
There are now 5 days of meetings between the two organizations, in which minimal progress has been made, and with the deadline until February 28 for the regular season of the Major League Baseball start March 31.

Problems
The meetings between MLB and the MLBPA in Jupiter Floridahave dealt with primarily economic issues, such as substantially increased earnings, better compensation for young players, and incentives for teams to play to win.
Among some of the other topics that have been discussed is service time manipulation, as well as taking future prospects into consideration for opening day rosters.

The bosses’ break began on December 2, after the previous agreement signed in 2016 ended.
