Miyazaki Airport in southwestern Japan resumed operations Thursday morning, a day after an unexploded World War II bomb exploded on the taxiway, forcing the cancellation of more than 80 flights.
The Japanese news agency “Kyodo” reported that a Japan Airlines plane left for Fukuoka this morning, on the first flight since the airport was closed yesterday, Wednesday, to investigate the accident and repair the aircraft aisle after finding a hole with a diameter of 7 meters and a depth of one meter.
She added that flights are expected to operate normally, except for flights in which there are no aircraft.
