Disappointment for Bulega
Spectacular qualifying in Misano Adriatico, where the race took place this morning Superpole of the fourth round of the season, the first after a long break that had lasted since the end of April. The home crowd, at least in the moments following the checkered flag, cheered for Di’s return to pole position Nicolò Bulegawith the Ducati rider who was also the author of new track record. However, Race Direction subsequently canceled the time of the reigning champion of the Supersport category, who in the final minutes of the session he had not respected the yellow flags exposed following the crashes of Iannone and Van der Mark.
Another pole and another record for Razgatlioglu
For this reason, the Emilian driver will have to settle for second place on the starting grid for his home round, with first place now occupied by Toprak Razgatlioglualso the author of a another record lap. The two, unlike their direct competitors, challenged each other with fast lap after fast lap, all below the previous record of the Misano track set last year by Alvaro Bautista. It was Bulega himself who opened the proceedings, initially finishing a good 4 tenths below the Spaniard’s record of 1:32.556. Three minutes from the end, however, the goal of pole position seemed to have disappeared due to the performance of Razgatlioglu, who had stopped the clock on the1:32.320 despite the yellow flags exposed for falls by Iannone and Van der Mark in the final three minutes. Two episodes that proved decisive for the cancellation of the fastest lap ever in the final of Bulega in 1:32.221, with Race Direction intervening at the end of the session when the pole start seemed to be a foregone conclusion. However, the excellent previous performances allow the Ducati rider to start from second position for Race 1 scheduled for this afternoon at 2.00pm, behind the #54 BMW. Remy Gardner closes the front row, followed by Alex Lowes, Bautista and Locatelli. Jonathan Rea is still struggling with results, with the six-time world champion only starting from 15th place.
