The Ministry of Health informed, on Saturday night, 3, that the Janssen vaccines that arrived frozen in the Federal District did not spoil, are safe and can be used normally.
Earlier, the DF government reported that 40,100 doses of Janssen received this morning arrived frozen, outside the proper storage temperature of 2º C. The finding led the regional health authorities to quarantine the batch, unavailable for use .
The ministry, however, in a statement, stressed that the regional government reported only 2,880 doses outside the proper temperature.
The shipment was inspected and approved by the National Institute for Quality Control in Health (INCQS). The conclusion was that the temperature did not influence the quality of the immunizers.
Of those included in the National Immunization Program to fight covid-19, Janssen’s vaccine is the only one that requires the application of only one dose.
Asked about when and how it will apply the inspected doses and why it had initially informed that the entire Janssen shipment was frozen, the DF government has not yet manifested itself.
The administration of Governor Ibaneis Rocha (MDB) has been criticized by experts because of the slow pace of vaccination. This Saturday (3), the vaccination schedule for people aged 44 and over was opened.
