The Ministry of Sports took radical measures against different plazas where Colombian professional soccer is played, due to non-compliance related to the delivery of security protocols for attendees.
This Thursday, April 4, the National Commission for Safety, Comfort and Coexistence in Footballin the Ministry of the Interior.
At this meeting, all the actors of Colombian football were present, Dimayor, Federation, Acolfutpro and even representatives of fans and the media, together with the Government.
At this meeting, in which the different positions regarding the action plan to combat violence in stadiums were discussed, Mindeporte was informed of the decision made.
“The Ministry of Sports, guaranteeing the safety of those attending professional football matches in Colombia and carrying out its work of Inspection, Surveillance and Control, ordered the Local Football Commissions that have failed to update and subscribe to the security protocols and emergency plansrgency and contingency of sports venues, do not allow the entry of the public until the documentation is available in accordance with the provisions of Decree 1007 of 2012,” the Ministry reported.
The different places where professional football is played had deadlines to deliver all the corresponding documentation, in accordance with the regulations. Not all of them complied.
The 5 punished cities
In that sense, the cities that have not complied with the provisions of the Ministry of Sports and will not have an audience in their stadiums, until they correct this re
sponsibility, are Bogotá, Cartagena, Santa Marta, Neiva and Palmira (Valle del Cauca).
“This provision was taken in compliance with Circular 004 – 2024 of this Portfolio and was reported in the ordinary session of the National Commission for Safety, Comfort and Coexistence in Football,” adds the Ministry.
It is now up to the punished cities to present the protocols as required by the norm.
The general meeting this Thursday aimed to establish a dialogue between all the corresponding actors in the search for taking measures to combat the violence that occurs in football stadiums.
