Millonarios would have a luxury friendly in the preseason: Falcao’s debut?

According to journalist Germán Balcarce, contributor to La Nación and Dsports Radio, River Plate will have two friendlies at the Monumental de Núñez stadium in the first half of July. The two rivals would be Olimpia de Paraguay and Millonarios.

Millos and River already have a long history of recent friendlies: they have met five times in the last 20 years. On December 16, 2004 they tied 2-2 in El Campín, in tribute to Amadeo Carrizo, who was goalkeeper for both teams and who was present that night in the stadium.

Then, on January 15, 2017, River Plate beat Millonarios 1-0 in Orlando, in its debut in the Florida Cup, in the first game that Argentine Miguel Ángel Russo directed in the Bogotá club.

Again on American soil, in Boca Raton, Millonarios fell by a landslide against River Plate, 4-1, on July 13, 2018. And the most recent confrontation was on January 14, 2023, in Fort Lauderdale, with victory for the Argentines for 2-0.
