MIllonarios debuts an alternative shirt this Thursday to play against Palestino, in its third appearance in the 2024 Copa Libertadores. Alberto Gamero's team is obliged to win to continue with a chance of reaching the round of 16.
Although the colors of Millos' main clothing do not resemble those of the Chilean club, which uses a shirt with green, white and red tones, Conmebol made the Colombian team change its uniform.
The shirt, which is now the third kit of the 'ambassadors', has a curiosity: it is very similar to the one that their backyard rival, Independiente Santa Fe, has just released: it is yellow with black numbers.
It is not the first time that Millos plays with that color. He already did it in 2010, when he played with a uniform very similar to that of the Colombian National Team, with blue shorts.
Santa Fe also adopted the color yellow as part of its uniforms since 2006, when that tone replaced white in the second kit, but complemented with the color red in homage to the flag of Bogotá.
Other controversial Millonarios t-shirts
Last year, in the duel against Universidad Católica, from Ecuador, in the Copa Libertadores, the blues played orange, a tone they had already used against General DÃaz, from Paraguay, in the 2018 Copa Sudamericana.
Also in the Sudamericana, but in 2020, Millos faced Deportivo Cali in Palmaseca wearing a pink kit. He used it again in several League games.
In 2017, Millonarios wore a half black and half gray shirt, which became iconic among his fans, not because of the field players, but because of the goalkeeper Nicolás Vikonis, who adopted it as his diver to save in the season in which the team won the 15th star.
