Guanajuato.- This Friday, March 11 elements of the National Guard (GN) seized 80 pieces of jewelry with a value close to 43 million pesos at the Bajío International Airport, in Silao, Guanajuato.
This was announced by the government agency in a press release detailing that, thanks to the collaboration of personnel from the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM), the pieces were found in the luggage of two foreigners from Dallas, Texas, United States.
The discovery occurred when two carry-on suitcases were admitted to an X-ray unit.the machine found items similar to jewelry and aroused the interest of personnel who requested a detailed inspection.

During the review of the first suitcase gold pieces with diamonds were found with an approximate value of 42 million pesos, when trying to prove the origin it was determined that they did not have documents to verify their legality in Mexico.
In the second piece of luggage they found jewelry worth more than a million pesos, also with no documentation. gold, ruby-type diamonds and diamonds were some of the most prominent products.
The two foreigners were placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in León, Guanajuato to initiate an investigation and later have a judge determine their legal status.
