Milan, Leao comes out against Genoa: boos from San Siro
In the 67th minute of Milan-Genoa, Stefano Pioli takes off a dull Rafael Leao and inserts Okafor in his place. Boos at the San Siro for the Portuguese striker who is going through a not particularly brilliant moment (not good in the crucial phase of April between the two Europa League matches against Roma and the derby against Inter which handed the second star the Scudetto to the Nerazzurri ).
Shortly after his exit, goals from Gabbia and Giroud turned the game around before Genoa made it 3-3 thanks to Thiaw’s own goal (low cross from Thorsby, Tomori, Thiaw and Mateo Retegui on the ball and after a rebound the ball entered the net ). At the time of the changeover, Leao lowered his head and went straight to the changing rooms.

Milan, Pioli on Leao: “He is not in his best moment”
“When I make changes I don’t have to prove anything – Stefano Pioli explained at the end of Milan-Genoa regarding the replacement of Leao -. I don’t have to send any strong message. Rafa was too little inside the area, Okafor did better. He is not at his best, not even from a physical point of view.”
What is Milan missing to have the arithmetic certainty of playing in the Super Cup?
Milan turns the match against Genoa (twice down, 0-1, 1-2) but then gets caught at 3-3 and wastes the opportunity to close the Super Cup qualification issue (where Inter and the Italian Cup finalists: Juventus and Atalanta are already safe). For the pass to the finals scheduled in Saudi Arabia, there are still two points missing which would make any possible recovery for Bologna in vain. Winning on Saturday evening at San Siro against Cagliari would give the Rossoneri team the certainty of competing in the competition. Subsequently, Milan will go to Turin and close the championship at home against Salernitana.
Milan, Curva Sud contests the club: five banners and early exit from San Siro

Milan-Genoa was played in a surreal atmosphere at San Siro: as announced there was a fan strike. Silence from the Rossoneri fans as they read the lineups and as the teams entered the pitch. The Curva Sud displayed a series of banners protesting the company: “A winning project starts from the company. Cohesion, ambition, ability, targeted purchases, institutional presence, communication strategy”.
Ten minutes from the end of the match, the sector (second blue ring) reserved for organized AC Milan support was emptied. Only one banner remained: “Noise in silence”.
Florenzi: “The fans are protesting for the good of Milan, I empathize and understand them. They have our respect”
Fan strike during Milan-Genoa. What effect did it have? “A bit strange, they are the tailwind for us. When you have the wind in your favor you give even more than you can give, by this I mean that they have the utmost respect from us, I speak for the whole team. They make their choices and as far as I’m concerned they do it for the good of Milan. I think it’s not even easy for them not to support their favorite team. I empathize and understand them,” the words of Alessandro Florenzi to Dazn, at the end of the match at San Siro.
