Migration During the week, the Moroccan navy rescued about 400 migrants from the Mediterranean

In six months, more than 2,000 people have died on a voyage to Europe.

Morocco the navy has rescued 368 migrants from the Mediterranean to Spain this week. Among those rescued were three children, according to the Moroccan state news agency MAP.

People, mostly from sub-Saharan Africa, were rescued when their boats were in trouble. Some of the people were on the move in inflatables and kayaks.

The Moroccan navy also said it had rescued more than 300 migrants from the sea the previous week. Migrants travel both across the Mediterranean to Spain and across the Atlantic to the Spanish Canary Islands.

This year’s a total of more than 2,000 migrants have died on a voyage to Spain. The figure for half a year is almost the same as what it was throughout 2020, the migrant organization said earlier this month.

According to the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, between the beginning of January and the end of June, a total of more than 12,600 migrants arrived by sea. The figure is almost double the size of last year.
