The war in Ukraine put Europe’s attention there and on the refugees who left the country. But across the continent, other asylum seekers continue to seek help. Belarus, an ally of Moscow, allowed hundreds of people to cross into the Baltic states in an attempt to turn them into weapons of political pressure. They arrive in countries like Latvia, where there is no culture of migratory integration. Irene Savio and Leticia Álvarez investigated the condition of these people.
