These measures are reflected in the improvement of the situation of the expeditions in certain points that presented major problems. In the Community of Madrid, it has gone from 568.2 Identification Cards per day in September 2019 to 976.6 in September 2020 (that is, 71% more).
But still the collapse continues. In police stations in Madrid, the lines of foreigners to ask for appointments are enormous. On social networks, Facebook or Wallapop, there are people who sell appointments for up to 200 euros. Thus taking advantage of immigrants who have to urgently renew visas or important papers, for example.
Many of the 800,000 Latin Americans in Spain were victims of this virtual system that cannot respond to the demand.
