Middle East | Egypt fears a full-scale war in the Middle East

of Egypt the foreign minister warned on Sunday about the risk of a full-scale regional war in the Middle East. Tensions in the region have grown between Israel and the Lebanese extremist organization Hezbollah as the blows accelerate.

Foreign minister Badr Abdelatty also accused Israel of escalating the conflict.

“There is great concern that the situation in the region will escalate into a full-scale regional war,” Abdelatty told the AFP news agency at the UN headquarters on Sunday.

Abdelatty also said that Egypt, Qatar and the United States are still trying to get a ceasefire in Gaza. However, according to the foreign minister, the obstacle to a ceasefire is a lack of political will on the part of Israel.

The foreign minister also accused Israel of a “provocative policy” towards Hezbollah. According to Abdelatty, the escalation between Israel and Hezbollah has also had a negative impact on the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.

“We are talking to our regional and international partners, including the United States, about the importance of working to stop escalation and Israel’s provocative actions,” Abdelatty said.

Tensions Tensions have been rising in the Middle East since Palestinian extremist organizations, including Hamas, attacked Israel last October. Hezbollah launched attacks on Israel the day after the attack to show support for Hamas.
