The recent purchase of ActivisionBlizzard by microsoft continues to give something to talk about, because in addition to phil spencer reiterated that the company’s games will continue to reach platforms of Nintendo Y PlayStationthe executives of the firm Redmond They have also spoken about the cases of harassment and discrimination that were experienced within Activisionand state that they will “make sure the right people have power in the company.”
Brad Smith, vice president of microsoftspoke about the process that is being carried out to manage cases of harassment within ActivisionBlizzard, and as part of a recent interview with CNBCthe executive said the following:
“I think if there’s one thing we’ve learned about dealing with issues like sexual harassment or pretty much any cultural issue for people, it’s that it really requires a combination of commitment and humility. We expect the Activision Blizzard leadership team to make workplace culture and safety a priority every day, until the day this deal closes. And when we take over, we will have to make the same commitment.”
With these statements, the vice president of microsoft reiterated the company’s position in the face of this whole situation and not only that, but also gave indications about the departure of Bobby Kotick, current CEO of Activision Blizzard, once he publisher become an official part of microsoft in the coming months.
Publisher’s note: All eyes are on Microsoft to see exactly how they intend to fix the entire terrible toxic workplace culture that exists within Activision Blizzard. Of course, the logical thing would be to remove Kotick from power, something that will surely end up happening, but there are also other things of lesser relevance that they must work on.
