Microsoft and Asobo announced Microsoft Flight Simulator GOTY (Game of the Year Edition), which is a new version of the flight simulation game. The release date is November 18, 2021. This edition will be free in the form of update for those who own the game on PC and Xbox Series X | S. The old version of the game will be removed from the stores. This edition includes a whole host of extras, let’s see the details.
First of all, Microsoft Flight Simulator GOTY will include 5 new planes:
- Boeing F / A-18 Super Hornet
- VoloCity
- Pilatus PC-6 Porter
- CubCrafters NX Cub
- Aviat Pitts Special S1S
In addition to these they will add up new airports from Central Europe and the USA. Here are the Microsoft Flight Simulator GOTY additions:
- Germany: Leipzig / Halle Airport (EDDP), Allgäu Airport Memmingen (EDJA), Kassel Airport (EDVK)
- Switzerland: Lugano Airport (LSZA), Zurich Airport (LSZH), Luzern-Beromunster Airport (LSZO)
- USA: Patrick Space Force Base (KCOF), Marine Corps Air Station Miramar (KNKX)
Additionally, Microsoft Flight Simulator GOTY will include information on 545 previously missing airports in the US. There will also be new missions of Discovery Flights in six locations: Helsinki, Freiburg im Breisgau, Mecca, Monument Valley, Singapore and Mount Cook. They will add to this new tutorial, for a total of 14, as well as new features such as a new climate system, early access to DX12 and a new replay system.
Additionally, as part of the collaboration with Bing Maps, they will be added to Microsoft Flight Simulator GOTY new cities created with photogrammetry: Helsinki, Freiburg im Breisgau, Brighton, Derby, Eastbourne, Newcastle, Nottingham and Utrecht.
