30 years since the first world championship
In 1991 Michael Schumacher he made his debut at the Belgian Grand Prix, while a year later on the same circuit the German took home the first of his 91 Formula 1 victories.
In 1994 the first of the seven world championships won, a world championship which this year celebrates its three-decade anniversary.
Spa pays homage to Schumacher
And what better circuit than Spa-Francorchamps – where the F1 legend triumphed on six occasions – to give a worthy side to the celebrations of 30 years since the first title. There Legends Experiencestogether with the Schumacher family foundation – the Keep Fighting – will in fact organize some events over the weekend of 26-28 July (corresponding to the F1 world championship stage in Belgium) to pay homage to the anniversary.
They will come old cars on display of the champion from Kerpen and they will come significant objects and memorabilia put up for auction of Michael Schumacher's career (the proceeds of which will go to the Keep Fighting foundation), but not only that, because a limited number of patrons will be able to participate in a evening called “An Evening for Michael” in which some icons of Formula 1 will tell unpublished stories about the German.
Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm, commented: “This is the first time for Keep Fighting and Michael's family that they have decided to support an experience of this type. We are delighted to celebrate his career at Spa-Francorchamps, where it all began in F1. We are proud to be the launch event for Legends Lounge.”
Legends Lounge will collaborate with Formula 1 to implement hospitality services during the grand prix, focusing its offer on long-time fans, and will debut at the 2024 Belgian GP.
