Newman’s close friend, Matt Felker, who directed the recent docuseries After Baywatch: Moment in the Sunreported that the actor died “from heart complications” on the night of Sunday, October 20, “surrounded by his family and friends.”

Diagnosed at age 50, Newman talked about living with Parkinson’s disease in a documentary directed by Felker, and revealed that he took 10 medications a day and often woke up “nervous.”
