Michael Jordan’s collection of luxury cars and high-performance cars grows. The former NBA star boasts a very rich garage, with some exclusive Ferraris such as the Daytona SP3, the J50 and the 812 Competizione. A Pininfarina Battista Targamerica was recently added to the Prancing Horse cars, a one-off made by the Italian-German brand. This is the roofless version of the 1,903 hp electric hypercar, with this special variant having made its debut at Monterey Car Week and has now been delivered to its illustrious owner.
Pininfarina’s announcement
Automobili Pininfarina announced the event with some posts on social media and in particular on LinkedIn where the company also recounted the special moment of delivery with a photo: “Today we celebrate a truly special moment: the delivery of a bespoke, custom-built Battista, made in Italy with passion for a dear friend. This unique masterpiece embodies the pinnacle of design and engineering excellence, the result of an extraordinary journey shared together. We are grateful to have brought this unique vision to life.”
Michael Jordan’s Battista Targamerica
The example created for Michael Jordan contains several customization elements decided directly in agreement with the NBA champion. For example, on MJ’s Targamerica we find five-spoke alloy wheels inspired by Agnelli’s Testarossa (the car that inspired the design of this Battista) with triangular holes near the hub. Then there are also very particular details, such as the cigar compartment between the seats, with a humidifier system and lighting that changes depending on the driving mode. Pininfarina Battista Targamerica remains one of the best performing electric hypercars in the world, with its electric powertrain with four motors of 1,903 HP and 2,340 Nm, numbers that allow it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.86 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 350 km/h.
