Miccoli sentenced: the cassation confirms the sentence of 3 years and 6 months for the former Palermo striker for extortion aggravated by the mafia method
The final sentence has arrived for Fabrizio Miccoli. The second section of the cassation dismissed the appeal filed by its lawyers and confirmed for the former captain of the Palermo the sentence of 3 years and 6 months in prison for having commissioned an aggravated extortion of the mafia method together with Mauro Lauricella, son of Kalsa Antonino “u scintilluni”. The man in turn had already been sentenced to 7 years. Miccoli will now have to turn himself in to serve his sentence but hopes that the Supervisory Court apply alternative measures.
Miccoli’s problems with justice dates back to about 10 years ago. The attacker with the support of the criminal had tried to forcibly recover a sum of 12 thousand euros from the former owner of the “Paparazzi” disco in Isola delle Femmine, Andrea Graffagnini. In the interceptions the two also insulted the judge Giovanni Falcone, considered “mud”. Miccoli later publicly apologized for these statements. The player had been sentenced from the first degree with the abbreviated rite. For his part, Miccoli, who has also worn the national team shirt 10 times, has always denied knowing that Lauricella was linked to a mafia family.
