The Mexico-Puebla-Veracruz highway remains one of the most conflictive for the productive sector in the face of the record of theft of goods from carriers, said the president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), Ignacio Alarcón Rodríguez Pacheco.
He commented in an interview for MILLENNIUM Puebla that robberies occur in a context in which the economy began to reactivate in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, mainly on roads that connect with San Martín Texmelucan and Ciudad Serdán.
He noted that the CCE seeks to retake the security tables with authorities of the three levels of government in order to expose this problem that affects companies affiliated with the body, especially exporters.
“We are insisting to retake those tables as soon as possible. By having almost 95 percent of the productive sectors, they increase. We continue to struggle a lot in the section from San Martín Texmelucan to Ciudad Serdán, where the greatest passage of goods is registered ”, he commented.
The representative of the private initiative in the state explained that the transport loaded with household appliances, fabrics and groceries, they are more susceptible to assaults, since it is merchandise that is easy to market.
In that sense, the business leader celebrated the agreement established by the governments of Puebla and Veracruz this week to deal with various crimes, including transport theft.
“This will help a lot to be very coordinated both the state police and the police in Veracruz, which is the section that has always not affected, on the borders between one state and another,” said the business representative.
According to data from National Public Security System (SNSP), Puebla state accumulated 426 cases of theft from carriers in the first half of this year, an average of two robberies per day.
