Mexico City.– Mexican driver Andrés Pérez de Lara was crowned in the ARCA Menards Series, a development category that functions as a ladder to the Nascar United States.
It was at the Toledo circuit, on American soil, where the tricolor completed the feat just by starting the race, as he arrived at the last event of the season with a 41-point lead over Lavar Scott, his teammate in Rev Racing.
At 19 years old, Pérez de Lara is the first non-American driver to obtain the title in this stock car series, and he is also part of Nascar’s Drive for Diversity program. Originally from Mexico City, the Aztec became involved in the world of motor sports at the age of 11, shortly after he competed in F4 and Trucks, while in 2022 he became champion of the Nascar Mexico Challenge.
