Werder Bremen wins against in the basement duel Hertha BSC Berlin. The Hanseatic people are mercilessly effective and use every opportunity they have. Werder climbed to twelfth place in the table. Hertha got stuck in 14th place.
Goals: 0: 1 Selke (10th), 0: 2 Toprak (29th), 1: 2 Cordoba (45th + 2nd), 1: 3 Bittencourt (57th), 1: 4 Sargent (76th)
Right from the start, the first half was marked by a fight and minor fouls. Neither team really played out scoring opportunities. Only in the ninth minute there is the first shot on goal. It’s tough because it’s a penalty. Mittelstädt goes in too impetuously against Schmid and hits the Werder professional from behind on the foot. Selke certainly sinks the penalty that is due in the upper right corner. Schwolow had chosen the lower left corner. Definitely shot by the Werder professional.
Alleluia. That was a 911. The jubilation over it, but so be it. #BSCSVW

After that, Berlin was visibly shocked. It took a few minutes, during which the guests in particular controlled the game. But like before, the first shot on goal should be associated with a lot of excitement. Because again there was a penalty. In the 20th minute of the game, Mbom Cunha ran in the penalty area against the leg. Unfortunate action of the Werderan. But the decision was inevitable. Cunha took the ball himself. The penalty was taken very weakly. Bottom right exactly between Pavlenka and the post. Grateful for the Bremen keeper.
Actually, that could have been the starting shot for a Berlin offensive, but in the 29th minute, the capital city team left Toprak completely unprotected at a corner. The Bremen central defender can use a powerful header undisturbed. The Hanseatic people are smarter and take advantage of their chances. At that point, you didn’t have to be surprised that Hertha was currently in a relegation battle.
Actually can #Hertha BSC be happy that nobody is currently allowed into the stadium. There would be hardly more people at these appearances than there are today #Oly #BSCSVW #hahohe

To the delight of coach Bruno Labbadia, his team suddenly showed morale. Mittelstädt failed with a long-range shot from a good 18 meters to Pavlenka, but in stoppage time John Cordoba was surprisingly able to shorten. Pekarik was not disturbed on his cross from the right and Cordoba can bring the header with full force from 5 meters on goal. Pavlenka has no opportunity to react. Suddenly Hertha was back in this very physical game.
1: 2. Great combined goal from Peka & Córdoba. Wat for a first half I can’t anymore! So charged, irritable. Today is about everything. 1 point is not enough for me, we have to win somehow. No matter how! #hahohe #BSCSVW

I wish for the next half: A very quick 1: 3, no further injuries and no yellow-red. Would that be feasible? ??#bscsvw #Buli #Werder # green and white love #svw #Sky #SkyBuli #WerderBremen #Bundesliga

The connection hit seemed to work for the Herthaners. Berlin came out of the break better. Cunha failed at first because of Pavlenka, but the Brazilian woke up from his deep sleep. Now it would be a very difficult half-time for the Hanseatic League if they continued to play like this.
Will it go well for 40 minutes? We can hardly get over the center line. #BSCSVW

But Bittencourt destroyed all Berlin hopes in the 57th minute. Eggestein lifts great into the interface of the Berlin defense. The run-in Bittencuort takes the ball with one contact and completes the turn under Schwolow to lead again two goals. That was a really great goal that shows why the Berliners weren’t allowed to take a break. Hertha made the game and Werder made the goal.
Maxi Eggestein is so important again today! Often the foot in between, so often supports the IV’s and twice, gets a few second balls. Because of him, too, the center is solid. (And while I’m typing this, the assist comes.)#BSCSVW #Werder

Dream pass and Leo taking the ball? Werder plays soccer. #BSCSVW

It seemed like the game was over. The hosts were more noticeable because from now on as many opponents as possible were knocked down. If you had the ball, there was the train to the goal, but no solution was found against low-lying Bremer who were now lurking on the counterattack. Hertha still has opportunities from time to time, but does not use them. Cunha could have shortened in the 67th minute. He runs freely towards Pavlenka from the left, tries it alone, but his finish goes right past the gate. Piatek ran along and was certainly the better option. Pavlenka managed to grab a header from Cordoba.
Josh Sargent dealt the knockout blow in the 76th minute. First, the American prevailed well in a duel against Guendouzi, spins and from a standing start his shot goes from about 20 meters from the goal like a beam past Schwolow into the goal. The Berlin goalkeeper was obscured, no chance for him to get there somehow.
This win is really good! In general, but also for the table. Very nice guys!#werder #bscsvw

Werder Bremen deservedly wins against Hertha BSC Berlin in the end. At no point was the victory really in danger. The missed penalty by Cunha is indicative of the current sporting situation of the Berliners. You try hard, but in the end nothing comes out of it. Werder has a creamy day and Hertha has to see to it in the next few weeks that you are not suddenly at the bottom.
