On the morning of December 7, two assailants arrived at the Wholesale Market in the Iztapalapa mayor’s office Mexico City to try to strip a merchant of his belongings.
According to information from journalist Carlos Jiménez, they threatened one of the merchants in the vegetable area with a gun, from whom they robbed the amount of 47 thousand pesos, to later try to escape from the site.
However, in his escape one of the criminals identified as Edwin “N” 18-year-old, was retained by a group of workers from the Central de Abasto to beat him while his accomplice managed to escape.
Merchants tied him up with ropes and chains to hit him with a chair, causing various injuries to his face and body, but they decided not to go any further and did not lynch him.
Moments later, elements of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) arrived at the scene, who guarded the assailant to hand him over to police personnel. Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX).
Likewise, paramedics provided him with medical attention after the injuries caused during the beating received by the merchants, now a Public Ministry will determine his legal situation for the crime of robbery with violence.
