The very strong link between Lewis Hamilton and Brazil is nothing new. The seven-time world champion, who on the Interlagos circuit has won twice in his career and won his first world title, has in fact not hidden in the course of his sporting parable the great affection that binds him to the memory of Ayrton Senna. The Paulista legend has always been the undisputed idol of the young Hamilton, who never missed an opportunity to pay tribute to the three-time world champion. Often when he raced at Interlagos he wore celebratory helmets that paid homage to the country and its most famous ‘sporting son’, at least in the field of motorsport.
This time, however, on the eve of a race that promises to be crucial in the race of the # 44 to the dream – now increasingly difficult to achieve – of the eighth world title, it was Mercedes that wanted to celebrate the two legends. In fact, the Brackley team has published one on its official social accounts gorgeous photomontage which portrays the two legends embraced and intent on walking on the main straight of the circuit, with their respective cars waiting for them on the finish line. In support of all this there is then a quote from Hamilton himself, referring to Senna. “I was looking at Ayrton, he was the person I wanted to be when I was a child to be. I thought it would be great if I could emulate Ayrton, if I could do something similar to what he did, I would be super proud“. Hamilton himself commented with amazement at the ‘gift’ received by his own team.
this is incredible
