Mercedes-Benz renews its successful compact by presenting the restyling of the Class A, offered in hatchback and sedan versions. The novelties are more technical, with the external style that remains almost unchanged. In fact, new ones are making their debut petrol enginesnow all electrified mild and plug-in hybrids, a renewed MBUX infotainment and new trim levels (base, Progressive and AMG Line).
The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class as it is
Outside the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class has a few but important innovations, which make the exterior style more sporty, also thanks to the rims with dimensions up to 19 inchesincluding optional light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black with multi-spoke design and with high-gloss piping for the AMG Line.
Behind we find a new rear diffuser and LED rear lights as standard. The new A-Class also offers a new choice of exterior paint finishes: solid / metallized and MANUFAKTUR.
The versions are decidedly more sporty AMG 35 and AMG 45 S, with reworked headlights, AMG-specific radiator grille and a new one round badge with the AMG emblem instead of the Mercedes star with laurel wreath.

The driver display and center display create a holistic and aesthetic experience and they can be customized at will with the help of newly developed display styles (Classic with all relevant information for the driver, Sporty with dynamic rev counter, Discreet with reduced content), three modes (Navigation, Assistance, Service) and seven color worlds. L’A 250e plug-in hybrid offers up to 82 km of autonomy in electric, guaranteed by a lithium battery of 15.6 kWh. The powertrain consists of a 163 bhp 1.3 turbo petrol engine combined with a 109 bhp electric one. The battery is recharged with AC chargers from 11 kW and continues from 22 kW (10 to 80% charge in 25 minutes).
The total system power is 218 hp and 450 Nm average homologated consumption varies from 0.8 to 1.1 l / 100 km with 17-25 g / km of CO2.
Mercedes-Benz A-Class AMG A35 and A 45 S engines
Even the hottest engine of the Mercedes-AMG A 35 has been electrified with mild-hybrid technology, is now equipped with a 48 volt auxiliary power supply and a belt starting generator (RSG) and reaches a power of 225 kW / 306 hp with a maximum torque of 400 Nm.
As a mild hybrid, RSG favors agility with 10 kW more power at start-up. Also, there is now a 8-speed AMG Speedshift DCT gearbox and the new front radiator facilitates temperature management to the limit.
The characteristics of the At 45 S they don’t change, with the all-wheel drive compact sports car confirming the engine 2.0 turbo 421 hp and 500 Nmwhich allows it to reach 270 km / h and sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds.
On the occasion of the launch of the restyling, the AMG 45 S is also offered in the version AMG Street Style Editionwith the AMG aerodynamics package, the AMG night package I and II and the independent AMG tank cap.
The ADAS on the new A-Class
The new A-Class has also been updated in terms of ADAS And security assistance. With the new driver assistance package, for example, the lane keeping system is controlled much more comfortably by using the active steering control instead of one-sided braking.
