The Chinese Formula One Grand Prix was anything but unforgettable for Mercedes, Sprint Race aside: sixth position for Russell in the Sunday race, only ninth for Hamilton. Off the track, however, the German giant experienced an important moment: we are talking about the world premiere of the new one AMG GT 63 SE PERFORMANCEthe new flagship model of the GT series that has just been revealed on the sidelines of the Shanghai GP.
Hybrid traction E PERFORMANCE
The real strong point of this new car is the very powerful E PERFORMANCE hybrid engine, made up of a V8 and an electric motor: in terms of performance we are faced with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and ad an AMG electric drive unitwhich generate a total system power of 600 kW (816 HP) and a maximum torque of 1,420 Nm, for a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and a maximum reachable speed of 320 km/h.
Mechanics and technique
From a technical and mechanical point of view we find different systems, one above all AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with semi-active roll stabilization, but also active rear-axle steering. The overview is finally completed by an electrically switched two-speed transmission, a mechanical limited-slip differential on the rear axle and the lightweight 400 Volt high-performance battery located above the rear axle. Special mention for the latter: for the first time, the 560 cells are individually cooled.
