Mercedes-AMG One will go into production around mid-2022. The carmaker of the Star has confirmed what were the latest forecasts: after a series of delays, in the middle of next year the hypercar derived from the Project One concept will enter the assembly lines. There will be 275 copies of the hyper sports car derived from Formula One over 1,000 hp that will roll off the production lines, with customers then preparing to receive their own AMG One unit after months of delays.
The main obstacle that Mercedes encountered concerned the adaptation of the hybrid powertrain from Formula One to the road, a long and complicated process that the Star manufacturer now seems to have successfully completed. In fact, we recall that the new Mercedes-AMG One will be driven by a 1.6-liter hybrid V6 with over 1,000 HP, adapted from that of the Formula One car that won the 2017 world championship: the debut of the hybrid hypercar was initially planned. for 2019, which means it will come to light two years late. A delay justified not only by the problems related to the aforementioned hybrid engine, but also by the difficulties encountered by Mercedes in terms of compliance with emission standards WLTP through the use of a particulate filter that does not compromise performance. Now, however, everything seems to be solved: each example of the AMG One was sold for 2.27 million euros.
