Desmond scored between 28 points, Ja Morant added 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, bringing the Memphis Grizzlies to their 20th victory this season, compared to 14 defeats.
Joel Embiid scored 36 points and 13 rebounds, to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a victory over the Washington Wizards 117/96.
The Sixers raised the number of his victories to 17 for 16 defeats, while the defeat was the sixteenth for the Wizards, for 17 victories.
Nikola Jokic scored 26 points and 22 rebounds to lead the Denver Nuggets to a thrilling victory over the Los Angeles Clippers 103 / 100, and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Toronto Raptors 144 / 99, taking advantage of the brilliance of Kevin Love and Darius Garland, who each scored 22 points.
In other matches, the Miami Heat beat the Orlando Magic 93 / 83, the Chicago Bulls beat the Indiana Pacers 113 / 105, the San Antonio Spurs beat the Detroit Pistons 144 / 109, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the New Orleans Pelicans 117 / 112.
