A statement by Peretz, who was born in Morocco and who previously held the Israeli Ministry of Defense, said that the signing of the memorandum of understanding constitutes “an additional step in the field of creating a new partnership between the Israel Aerospace Industries Company and the aerospace and aerospace sector in Morocco.”
Israel Aerospace Industries Chairman and General Manager Boaz Levy said that the memorandum of understanding “will contribute to the promotion of joint and commercial projects in the aviation sector.”
The memorandum of understanding, which it called a “strategic partnership”, provides for the establishment of a research and development center, according to the statement.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding comes as a continuation of a joint declaration signed in December 2020 stipulating the expansion of cooperation in the fields of investment and technology.
The statement, quoting the Moroccan Minister of Industry, said that the memorandum of understanding is a response to “national priorities” in terms of promoting advanced training, employment, local industries, and research and development.
In late November, the two countries signed an unprecedented security cooperation agreement that allows Morocco, in particular, to easily obtain high-tech Israeli equipment, during the visit of Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz to Rabat.
