The Vente Venezuela party, owned by opposition leader María Corina Machado, reported this Sunday (29) that two members of the former deputy’s security team were arrested by the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro.
“Milciades Ávila and Edwin Moya, members of María Corina’s security team, were kidnapped this weekend by agents of the regime’s repressive forces. His whereabouts remain unknown. We demand to know where they are and their immediate freedom!”, informed the party in X, according to information from the Venezuelan press.
Ávila, who is head of Machado’s security team, had already been arrested on July 17. He was accused of gender-based violence by Chavista authorities and released the following day.
The Maduro regime has intensified repression against opponents since the fraud in the July 28 presidential election, which the Chavista National Electoral Council (CNE) says was won by the dictator.
Agents from the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (Sebin), one of the dictatorship’s repressive bodies, arrested opposition leader Pedro Guanipa on Thursday (26), when he tried to board a plane bound for Bogotá. Before him, at least 26 political leaders had been arrested in Venezuela since the election.
