One of the milestones is that Real Betis is one of the creators of the Alliance of Football Clubs for the Climate, which was presented last Saturday. This initiative was promoted by Qarabag and the European Club Association (ECA) with the support of the COP29 Presidency and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In addition to Qarabag and Atlético de Madrid, the alliance includes Liverpool and Tottenham (United Kingdom), Fenerbahce, Galatasaray (Turkey), Udinese (Italy), Porto (Portugal), Flamengo (Brazil) and Malmo (Sweden).
With the signature of the Baku Declarationthese clubs are committed to raising awareness about climate issues and promoting the fight against climate change using the influence of football. Furthermore, they show their willingness to cooperate not only among themselves, but also with other relevant organizations, including the Sports for Climate Action initiative.
