Medical care Tampere has developed a model for general public illness that saves thousands of doctor’s times a year – this is how it works

In Tampere, physiotherapy can be obtained without a doctor’s referral. This saves more than 4,000 doctor’s times a year for those most in need. Now the model is being implemented throughout Pirkanmaa.

Physiotherapist Jaana Hietanen explains in detail the causes of Jukka Liimola’s back problems. He uses a picture that describes the structure and anatomy of a person. Hietanen and Liimola were photographed at the Tampere Tipotie health station on December 2.

From Tampere retiree Jukka Liimolan his back started to annoy over the weekend. When the ailment only seemed to get worse, he walked in through the door of Tipotie Health Center on Wednesday to make an appointment. On Thursday morning, Liimola was already sitting as a physiotherapist Jaana Hietanen at the reception. Liimola received time for physiotherapy directly without a doctor’s referral.
