Media Molecule appears to be developing an entirely new game based on an original IP, according to a job posting.
After Dreams, it seems that Media Molecule is dedicating himself to something completely new on PS5based on what we can deduce from a job announcement published recently by the British team, where one is mentioned new intellectual property.
In fact, this is quite within the realm of the studio, which apart from LittleBigPlanet has always been rather inclined towards creating new things, rather than sequels. Considering that the Dreams experience is now definitively over, the team seems to have been thinking about something new for some time.
L'announcement in question is looking for a lead programmer in Art Technology, and the role specs include “collaborating closely with the larger programming team and driving technical requirements and standards for Media Molecule's new IP.”
Something new from Media Molecule
Although it cannot be taken as official information, the detail is quite explicit and seems to indicate that there is at least one new intellectual property in development at Media Molecule, waiting to find out what it is.
Dreams was released in complete form in 2019, and reached the end of official support in recent months, effectively marking the end of its rather long journey, but it is likely that the team has been working on the new project for a few years already.
Many were waiting for Dreams to arrive on PC, but Sony evidently did not consider the title eligible for a port on Windows, which however should at least have freed up further resources for the next project, which could therefore be presented before long.
