Since 2017 the McLaren has decided to reintroduce the historic orange coloring on its car, transforming it into the traditional papaya from 2018. Fans have enthusiastically greeted the return to the initial livery of the British team, for years white-red Marlboro, then gray Mercedes and then black in the Honda period . For the 2022 season, there did not seem to be many changes in terms of color for the cars entrusted again to Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, among other things that appeared among the most competitive of the lot, so much so that it also received appreciation from rival teams.
On the morning of Wednesday 9 March the English team released an image of the MCL36 on the track in Bahrain for the filming day – home of the tests that will start tomorrow morning – with a redesigned livery, with the black engine hood and the McLaren Artura sponsorship, which gives the car an even more aggressive impression. The specialized website Decalspotters compared the two colors, that of the first tests and that of the filming day.
