Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said that children should pursue their dreams, when asked about a picture book detailing Kylian Mbappe’s love for Real Madrid as a teenager.
In the illustrated biography, Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain star, recalled his visit to Real Madrid’s training when he was 14, where he met his heroes Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The publication of the story led to an increase in rumors about Mbappe’s transfer to the Spanish capital club, as there was an attempt by Real to include him on the last day of the last summer transfer period.
Mbappe’s contract with Saint-Germain expires at the end of the current season, and there were speculations that he would sign initial contracts with Madrid, which leads the German league. When asked about Mbappe and the comic book, Ancelotti replied: “Children should pursue their dreams.” He added: When I was a child I dreamed of playing in the Italian league, and I achieved this. However, when asked about the player he would like to be like, he chose several names, including Erling Haaland, a player from Borussia Dortmund. “I would like to be an attacking player,” he said. Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema or Haaland.
He added, “What I lacked in my career was to score goals. Real Madrid narrowly beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0 last Wednesday, and will meet third-placed Real Sociedad on Saturday.
So far, Real Madrid leads the Spanish league table, seven points behind its pursuit of Atletico Madrid, who still has a game postponed. The Sociedad match is the start of a huge week, witnessing a confrontation between Real and Inter Milan in the Champions League and then facing Atletico Madrid in the League.
However, Ancelotti said that changing the formation will only happen if there is a player who needs a rest. He added, “We are not thinking about the Inter and Atletico matches. I’m going to push hard to win the match against Sociedad. He confirmed: Casemiro will play the match even though he has 4 warnings. All players are available. Gareth Bale is back for the team, although he won’t be on the match list.
