Navolato, Sinaloa.- With the abstention of the mayor Margoth Urrea, seven aldermen and the trustee attorney, and the vote in favor of two mayors, the proposal of the PRI member Ivette Valenzuela Ramírez to broadcast live the sessions of the Cabildo de Navolato, It was rejected.
In the ordinary session held today, the councilor made her colleagues from the Cabildo see that because they had voted abstentionally and there were two votes in favor, the proposal should be considered approved, because the abstentions add up in favor.
In the same discussion, Valenzuela Ramírez lamented the decision made by the councilors, since they refuse to open up to the public, so that they can find out about the issues that are addressed and voted on in the Cabildo; but this government headed by Margoth Urrea, wants to do everything in the “dark.”
“What are they afraid of? What do they want to hide? They refuse to be transparent, despite the fact that they proclaim that they are an open government and close to the people, but in decision-making they do the opposite, and in the dark”, condemned
During the discussion, the councilor of Morena, Francisco Castro, said that he did not need social networks, and that the doors of the Cabildo were open for those who want to attend the sessions; and that broadcasting them live would only be for publicity.
In the same sense, the councilor of the Labor Party, Magdalena Ramírez Esqueda, commented that it was not necessary to broadcast live, and to be open with the population, they already held the Cabildo Abierto sessions.
On March 3, the Cabildo de Navolato had unanimously approved that all sessions, both face-to-face and virtual, be broadcast live on digital platforms, so that they can be seen by the population.
However, due to a legal justification in the point of agreement approved in that extraordinary session; so today the proposal was made again.
