Russia has never had plans to threaten with nuclear weapons, the next statements about this are fake. This was announced to journalists on October 6 by the chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, during her visit to Jakarta.
“Russia has never had any plans to threaten anyone with nuclear weapons,” the politician said.
The West “has exhausted its arguments to discredit Russia”, which is why allegations of a “nuclear threat to Russia” began to appear.
She recalled the country’s nuclear doctrine, which states that these weapons are considered as a deterrent. It can be used “in case of aggression, attack, as a means of protection,” the senator stressed.
On October 5, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov shared his opinion that the United States and NATO have an unhealthy fear of the fact that the Russian Federation has nuclear weapons. He recalled that since the appearance of such weapons, the Americans, the French, and the Russians have an understanding that there can be no winners in a nuclear war.
On September 28, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau said that NATO countries should respond to the “threat of Russia’s use of nuclear weapons” with a destructive, but not nuclear, strike.
On September 25, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Washington has a plan in case Russia hypothetically uses nuclear weapons. Any use of it would have catastrophic consequences both for the country using it and for many others, the diplomat noted.
On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin drew attention to the fact that the United States, Great Britain and the European Union are pushing Ukraine to transfer hostilities to Russian territory. He clarified that nuclear blackmail was also used by the West: some representatives of states talk about the admissibility of using nuclear weapons against Russia.
Later, on September 23, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Putin’s statements about nuclear weapons were taken seriously in the US administration. At the same time, she noted that Washington does not intend to increase the level of readiness of its nuclear forces.
