The Mataró Hospital (Maresme) received the award for best public hospital in the maternal and child category in the sixth edition of the BSH Awards (Best Spanish Hospitals Awards), which was held in Madrid and in which more than 140 hospitals participated. public and private throughout Spain. A recognition that highlights the center’s hospital excellence in this area, through the analysis of eight indicators of efficiency, adequacy and quality of care.
The evaluated indicators that have allowed us to win this award have been: parts, pregnancy and postpartum care, neonatology, specific processes in patients from 2 to 14 years old (diseases of the respiratory, digestive, nervous system, genitourinary diseases and endocrine diseases) and rest of episodes in these pediatric patients. An award that the Hospital also received in 2021.
Second best center to give birth
The second best center to give birth in Catalonia, according to their families. Apart from this institutional award, the Mataró Hospital was the second center with the highest score in the latest surveys on pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care carried out by the Department of Health among all Catalan hospitals. The overall satisfaction level is 8.45 out of 10, half a point above the Catalan average and only surpassed by Hospital del Mar, with 8.73. Families highlight the treatment of doctors, nurses and midwives, the centre’s facilities, help with pain during childbirth and postpartum, and monitoring of the baby during the hospital stay as areas rated excellent.
