Mass deportation of undocumented immigrants is supported by half of Americans

According to a probe recent published by the portal Axioshalf of Americans (51%) support the mass deportation of immigrants undocumented.

These data only reveal that there is broad support for some of the toughest immigration proposals of the former president of USADonald Trump, who promised to carry out “the largest deportation operation” if he returned to the White House after the elections next November.

Likewise, the survey reveals that support for the mass deportation varies significantly between different political, ethnic and generational groups. For example, Republicans lead this support at 68%, followed by Democrats at 42% and independents at 46%.

In terms of ethnic groups, whites show 56% support, while Latinos and African Americans show lower numbers, with 45% and 40% respectively.

The differences between generations They are also notable, with the baby boomers and the Generation leading support for mass deportation, while millennials and Generation Z show less support, at 48% and 35% respectively.

Another immigration proposal that has gained ground is the elimination of the right to birthright citizenship on American soil. This measure has significant support, with 30% of Democrats and 46% of Republicans agreeing to end this constitutional rule.

The survey, conducted by The Harris Poll and based on a sample of 6,251 American adults consulted online between March and April 2024, it has a margin of error of 1.5% and a confidence level of 95%.
