After announcing the presence in the championship of Formula Ein relation to its commitment in the world of electricity, Maserati has also decided to take on the challenge of covered wheels. The House of the Trident will in fact race in the Fanatec GT2 European Series Championship, starting from 2023, with a specifically prepared MC20 model.
There MC20 GT2 it will derive from the street version, from which it inherits the engine Neptune with new MTC (Maserati Twin Combustion) technology, the suspension geometry with a double wishbone solution equipped with a semi-virtual steering axis and the carbon monocoque. The technical data sheet of the car, single-seater not homologated for road use, will have a base width of 2020 mm and a height of 1220 mm (measurements that may change during the development process), with a dry weight that will be defined by the BoP. It will be equipped with a 120-liter fuel tank, FIA FT3 homologated, and of course it will have all the FIA safety specifications.
In the MC20 GT2 Racing Kit body package there will be a multi-adjustable rear wing, LED headlights, FIA approved rain light, the front and side windows in Lexan. Also present are racing calipers and ventilated racing brakes, 18-inch custom forged aluminum wheels (fixing with central locking system), adjustable racing shock absorbers, multifunction steering wheel in carbon fiber. How optional you can get the rear camera display, the on-board camera for video recording, the driving performance optimization display, the tire pressure monitoring system.
