Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold more than 11 million copies. Sony itself revealed the data about its latest major single player game during a recent briefing with the company’s commercial sector. Critically acclaimed, Insomniac Games’ game was also a success, with sales continuing to grow at a steady rate.
It should be noted that the data on sales of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 extends up to April 20, 2024 and is obviously global, so it concerns the performance of the game all over the world. At the beginning of 2024, Sony had revealed sales of 10 million copies as of December 31, 2023. We are therefore talking about one million more copies sold in recent months, despite the natural slowdown compared to the launch. There is still great interest from the public.
In March, Insomniac Games released a new patch for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that added new features like New Game Plus and Mission Replay, to the delight of those who want to continue playing it. Despite the success, however, it should be remembered that Insomniac Games was one of the studios affected by the mass layoffs that occurred throughout the company in recent months.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is only available on PS5. If you want more details, read our long and complete review. It will probably also arrive on PC in the near future, as happened with Marvel’s Spider-Man and the independent expansion dedicated to Miles Morales. Moreover, Sony has made it clear that it will bring all its major titles to PC, also given the success of some launches such as Ghost of Tsushima, so this will certainly be one of the next ones, perhaps after God of War Ragnarok.
