The winter holidays for the teams and drivers of the MotoGP are now running out. Indeed, on January 31st, in Sepang, Malaysia will already be shakedown time for the test drivers in view of the official test session scheduled for February 5th and 6th. The following week we will move to Indonesia from 11 to 13 February to begin discovering the Mandalika track which made its debut in Superbike as the final stage of the 2021 season. Then, Sunday 6 March, it will already be time to get serious at Losail with the Qatar Grand Prix, the first of a record season with 21 events scheduled.
On Friday 14 January at 11:00 the Honda HRC will remove the veils from the 2022 bike, but the event and the links with the media via zoom will not feature Marc Marquez. In the official press release published by the house of the golden wing, in fact, the following sentence is reported: “Marc Marquez will not participate to focus on his recovery and pre-season preparation“. Obviously, the other Honda riders will not be missing, namely Pol Espargarò, Takaaki Nakagami and Alex Marquez. The eight-time world champion recently published images on social media that portray him intent on training for the upcoming season. The diplopia, however, despite the optimism on the part of Honda at the end of the medical examinations to which Marquez underwent at the end of 2021, could keep the Catalan phenomenon off the tracks by preventing him from taking part in the winter tests.
