Current changes
The topic of the future of the drivers at Red Bull has returned to the fore following the dismissal of Daniel Ricciardo from Racing Bulls, with the last six races of the world championship seeing the return to the track of New Zealander Liam Lawson. A pilot trained in the prestigious Junior Team of the Milton Keynes company, which in the meantime wanted to confirm Sergio Perez also for the next Formula 1 season, as reiterated by Team Principal Christian Horner.
Marko pushes for Tramnitz
The unconvincing performances of the Mexican have already generated some rumors about the possible arrival of Lawson in place of ‘Checo’ in Red Bull, but regardless of what actually happens the Anglo-Austrian team will still have to focus on one of its young talents for the future in Formula 1. A promise that, according to Helmut Markoalready has a name: Tim Tramnitz.
The program
German born in 2004 who landed in the Junior Team this year, the 19-year-old played his first Formula 3 season, finishing in 9th place and winning the Sprint Race in Monza, but for the Red Bull Consultant he is the ideal driver to focus on for the future: “With Tramnitz we had a positive season – explained Marko to RTL/ntvanticipating what his program will be – he will remain in Formula 3 for another year because he simply wasn’t ready for Formula 2 in terms of preparation. But this must clearly be his goal. Then he will move to Formula 2“.
Future in F1?
Tramnitz will therefore remain in the cadet categories of the Circus for at least the next two years, but will it be possible to make it to F1 one day? “Based on the course of events so far, performance and attitude, I believe we have a serious candidate in Tramnitz – he replied – but at the moment we are in Formula 3. He is not the kind of person who has the completeness of a German. It’s, as we say, a bit of a mix. It passes very well, but the His weak point is his qualifications. You have to explain to him that without hard work, regardless of talent, you can’t get to the top. Only a small part of the finances comes from us. He is fortunate to have other supporters. Like I said, he needs to work a lot harder in terms of his overall attitude and taking the whole thing seriously. Its management is now holding talks with several teams Formula 2and it looks like he will start running for another team next year. The extent to which we will still be involved is also still up for debate.”
