Mario Gutierrez, who accompanied Black angels For more than 5 decades, he passed away on January 21 in Mexico at the age of 72.
The musician toured several Latin American countries during the 60s. His success was compared, at the time, with the mythical British band The Beatles.
It was through a statement on the group’s official Instagram account that the unfortunate death was announced. The text was accompanied by a photograph of its founder.
“Dear friends, fans and followers of this legend called Mario Hernán Gutiérrez Contreras, founder of Los Ángeles Negros (…) has raised his vibration to the highest, to meet the Lord,” reads his publication.
“Let us raise a heartfelt prayer so that your transition will be smooth, and you will be received with a choir of heavenly angels for your eternal rest,” the text adds.
According to La Nación, the singer’s wife would also have died the same day. Also, he indicated that she died due to the coronavirus.
However, the family has not communicated the real causes of death. Germán de la Fuente, vocalist of the group, spoke about this issue to La Tercera de Chile.
“I can’t be sure, but apparently it was. I understand that they both had the same disease and that they died a couple of hours apart, nothing more, “he mentioned.
“I spoke with a friend of ours and she told me that they couldn’t go see him either. You know that in these cases everything is terribly private. They weren’t answering the phones, they must have been wrong, “he said.
