Vaccination will continue on Monday (17) until Friday (21) for children in this priority group, between 9 am and 4 pm, also in Sarem. Children with severe mobility difficulties can receive the vaccination at home, scheduling at their reference Health Unit.
The municipal secretary of Health, Solange Oliveira, recalled that the vaccine is safe, effective, and important to break the chain of transmission of the virus. “The country is in a late process of contemplating children aged 5 to 11 with vaccination, and this age group has become a link in the chain of transmission of the virus during the holiday season. Our objective in Maricá is to break this link soon. Today we started vaccinating indigenous children in the village where we have more than 40 families, and where there have been cases of contaminated children throughout the pandemic.
