Everything seems to smile on María Pombo, always striving to show an image of a winner in her personal life and business. However, ‘Semana’ magazine has uncovered an unexpected event by revealing that a clothing brand created by the businesswoman would have an outstanding payment debt of 17,504.86 euros that a logistics company cannot get paid no matter how hard it tries and that desperately assures that the influencer does not answer the calls.
According to the aforementioned source, the debtor in question is Tipi Tenta young clothing brand created by María Pombo, her sister Marta and the latter’s ex-husband, Luis Giménez, in 2017. Seven years after its founding, there is a entrenched problem that has been following them for a long time.
Tipi Tent only sells online after closing its physical store in Madrid, but continues to operate with apparent normality. That is to say, You have your billing and income. But they don’t seem to show signs of life, or at least for the company that claims them until seven invoices for their services. “Documents, by the way, to which this magazine has had access, in the same way as to the repeated burofaxes sent, in this case, to Luis Giménez, sole administrator of the company,” warns ‘Semana’.
Fed up with not getting paid or having a response
Fed up with everything, this company has told the magazine «the nightmare he has been facing since November 2023», more than a year ago. Since then, no one from the Pombo clan, led by María, has paid the bills for flying the clothes from China. They say that they have gone into a bunker and that they do not even respond to calls.
«It is impossible to talk to them. Nobody picks up the phone anymore», they say from Logfret, the company that claims the money, a company that has been operating in Spain for 26 years. It has a business line related to fashion and what it does is bring it to our country. One of its clients is Tipi Tent and its business model is Acquire the clothes in Asia and bring them by plane to Spainwith their corresponding tariffs.
«They send us to do these services. We bring it to them and issue them a series of invoices. “They leave us hanging with seven invoices of 17,504.82 euros, ranging from November 2023 to January 2024,” Logfret argues to ‘Semana’, with unpaid bills ranging from 3,546 euros to 4,011.
The insistence is being useless. «When the 30 days expire, they are constantly reminded that they have to pay, but it doesn’t matter. From our credit insurance company We go after them but nothing could be done. Your physical store disappears and we pass all the documentation to lawyers. We asked them to act, since we had written them emails, burofax, but they did not respond,” they explain to the magazine.
“They have a lot of face”
The claim presents two legal avenues: one is against the limited company, Tipi Tent, and the other against Luis Giménez, ex-husband of Marta Pombo, who is the administrator. «They do not present the annual accounts and since they have debts with third parties, the law says that the administrator is responsible. “You can legally go against him,” they argue. What is curious is that Tipi Tent, in the year 2021, sales shot up 200% until billing more than 1.8 million euros.
The complaining company has managed to contact the Pombos’ father so that he knows what is happening, but the result could not have been more discouraging. «The father says that, of course, since Marta was pregnant… Excuses. They have a lot of face», they assure ‘Semana’ from Logfret. «In the end I have workers, families and some costs when bringing the merchandise, for which I have paid all the transportation. They continue selling and I ask them to pay», they add.
The logistics company has decided to put the matter into circulation because it is tired of not getting answers. They are tired of waiting and can’t take it anymore.. «This can be delayed. We still have to wait two years to collect it. We have been patient, but they don’t even respond,” they argue.
