Once the PRO’s internment in the City of Buenos Aires was cleared, the former Buenos Aires governor, María Eugenia Vidal, launched this Saturday as a candidate for deputy in the district with a wide unit photo.
The event, held in Palermo, with the presence of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and Patricia Bullrich, was broadcast via social networks. “They told us on the street, be together and united. Here we are, together and united. With the same convictions and values. But with new learnings and a desire to defend hope and the future, “Vidal began.
“I accept this candidacy because it is a difficult moment for Argentina. Today more than ever I feel that I want and I have to be there to defend the Argentines“, he remarked. And added:” I heard the phrase ‘is what there is’. I say ‘it’s not what there is’. We must build something much better. That is why I want to be a candidate. “
Regarding the delay in defining her candidacy, the former governor of the Province said: “You have to show that the country depends on us. From that place I accept. I thought about it for a long time and not because of speculation. I never speculated. All of this is bigger than myself. I wanted to be sure after the 2019 that I had learned, that my north and the north of this space was clear. I confirmed it and in the next few months I hope to transmit it, “he exclaimed.
“I heard many opinions and comments about my candidacy. I never speculated, I never took advantage, in each place I gave all the battles. I felt sorrow and even surprise when I heard that fear was hiding behind my decisions. It is not like that. The passion and commitment drives this decision. What I put in the Province. I don’t know any other way to do things. We need new faces“, he released on his pass from the Province to the City.
In this regard, he remarked: “I learned that problems and difficulties are so complex, that we need to be many more, and if we are always the same, in the same places, others do not grow. Change cannot be made by one person, we have to be many. I do not compete in the Province because I want others to grow“.
Before Vidal spoke, the Buenos Aires head of government praised her candidacy: “I have known her for a long time. We have enormous confidence. For me it is a pride that she heads our unit list. She is an honest person who has a huge commitment to improve her. life to the people and that he is now going to take to Congress representing the City, but defending all Argentines“.
“Not all of us think the same and that is valid. We discuss and this enriches public policies. We are all represented here. It is the first time since ’83 that we kept the opposition united and it is a huge achievement, “added Rodríguez Larreta.
For her part, Patricia Bullrich said: “María Eugenia, I hope you can carry this flag forward. I wish you the best of luck. In front of us we have a movement that offends all day. She has even said that we are worse than the nazis. It is the most undemocratic. We have to continue in our democratic and republican matrix. “
Martín Lousteau and Emiliano Yacobitti for the UCR, Maximiliano Ferraro for the Civic Coalition, Graciela Ocaña for Public Trust, the socialist Roy Cortina and other leaders also participated in the presentation.
About the unit, Lousteau said: “This is what they will continue to see in the coming days in the City and in the rest of the country. Working to have the best electoral offer and all work together for the country we want. “
In December The mandate of five Buenos Aires deputies of the PRO expires, three from the UCR and two from the Civic Coalition. There are ten of those from Together for Change (they had entered in 2017 through two different lists, one headed by Elisa Carrió and the other by Martín Lousteau) and the district renews a total of 13 seats.
